During this Christmas season, be sure to remember the elves and reindeer.

There’s no doubt Santa is a hard worker. He is a Saint, after all.

To deliver presents to the 700 million children who celebrate Christmas, his sleigh travels about six million miles per hour.

That’s a lot of chimneys and a lot of cookies and a lot of cold wind whistling against rosy cheeks.

But what about the elves who review the Dear Santa letters and the naughty and nice lists and plan for and build the 700 million toys? Or the eight tiny reindeer who train year-round to stay in tip-top shape for one night of intense work that requires them to travel faster than the speed of sound?

It’s easy to remember Jolly Old Saint Nicholas. He’s the face man who generally gets all the credit and praise.

But Christmas is the time to remember those who work tirelessly, often in the background, to make a better life for all of us. Christmas is the time to thank those who serve others. “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45.) Fortunately, there are many elves and reindeer in our midst, and we would like to take the opportunity to honor one such group. 2020 has been a difficult year for everyone—but there are always those in the background that work tirelessly to make things better for all of us. Although our time together this Christmas season will likely look different than it has in years past, let us not forget to pray for and thank the elves and the reindeer.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)

On behalf of the law firm of Harrison White, P.C., I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
