Spartan Law: Communities We Serve in South Carolina
The South Carolina lawyers at Harrison, White, Smith & Coggins, P.C. take pride in our roots and in the communities we serve. Our lawyers actively participate in charitable and community-oriented organizations that support the residents in our area. Here’s information about the areas we serve:
Our office is located in Spartanburg, right in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The city’s beginnings during the Revolutionary period in America’s history echo today in multiple museums, churches and historical homes.
Spartanburg is also a major center for higher education, boasting seven colleges and universities. These colleges and universities help drive Spartanburg’s economy, boosting economic development for businesses and enriching citizens’ lives.
Anderson, South Carolina’s motto is “The Electric City.” The city’s connection to electric power dates back decades; Anderson was the first city in the South to have an unlimited supply of electric power.
Anderson sits on the Piedmont Plateau and serves as the county seat for Anderson County. Its location on Interstate 85 – one of the heaviest traveled highways in the southeast – contributes to its economic growth. In fact, Anderson County was ranked 14th out of 50 on a list of the hottest American cities for business location, according to the January 2001 issue of Expansion Management. But, despite its economic growth, Anderson still offers residents the advantages and the feel of a small town.
Greenville offers something for everyone. Downtown Greenville is Upstate South Carolina’s largest central business district. The area’s revitalization stems from strategic public-private partnerships designed to create a state-of-the-art community, making it a great area for economic investment.
Although its beginnings track back to the Cherokee Indians, Greenville is also known as the “Textile Center of the South,” with an Exposition Hall built just for textile industries. After weathering the Great Depression, the building of Donaldson Air Force base just south of Greenville helped the economy recover.
